Final Semester 1 (Quater 2)

December 22nd

As mentioned in class, your semester final will be a compare and contrast essay.  I have not fully narrowed it down to what the topic questions will be, but some of the examples that I gave in class are as follows:

• A countries current economy and its historical economy
• Traditional versus modern means of production
• Developing and Developed economies
• Two of the five countries that we examine

I want you to start thinking about this essay as we go through our daily lessons.  Try to connect what we learn in class through lectures, notes, assignments, and activities to what is required of you for your final essay.

1. Advertising makes people want to buy things more than usual. Advertisement could be interesting, good, funny. People could also want to try out the product.

2. No 'cause citizens have money, if they have enough money they would want to buy more stuffs for themselves. We could be more informed by challenge ourselves to look at the bad side of the product, find out more whether the product is good to use or not.

Migration/ immigration of story

Minami Migrated from Japan to Vietnam

Hi, I am Minami Murata and today I am writing about my migration and immigration story. I left Japan to Vietnam 24^th August 2009 because studying English in Japan is not good; the Japanese pronunciation is not exact, fluent. Besides Japan does not have many international schools. It is normal and is not interesting. Above are my push factors. In Japan, Teachers in school just teach English grammar, don’t teach much about speaking and pronunciation so the student’s speaking ability is not good. I would like to study English more so I move to Vietnam to study in AIS. Vietnam is the place where my mom lived and grew up when she was a girl. Vietnam education is a little better than Japan. Vietnamese are kind and help foreigners a lot. Above are my pull factors.

Living in Vietnam I can study English, can be funny with many friends. I can enjoy a peaceful and friendly place. But sometimes I miss mom, father, and friend a lot, and at such time I often call and chat with them. I cannot go out side alone because I cannot speak Vietnamese, so I am scare of meeting bad people. I sometime forgot Japanese. Finally, I am happy to study in AIS in Vietnam now.
